The total number of displaced persons due to the disaster situation has increased upto 493, 455, Disaster Management Center sources said. The number of safety centers has increased up to 185.
Co- Cabinet spokesman Minister Dr. Rajitha Senarathne addressing media this evening (27th May) said that by now the death toll has increased up to 113.
Meanwhile, steps have been taken to maintain the health services in the affected areas amidst the disturbances and the Public Health Inspectors have been given instructions to prevent a possible epidemic situation.
