President grateful for the success of Uththamabhiwandana

Media ministry newsUththamabhiwandana, the national ceremony to rename the war heroes of the 1818 Uva- Wellassa rebellion as patriots was held very successfully under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena on 1st March at the Temple of Tooth Relic in Kandy.

 In this regard the, the Minister of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media Gayantha Karunathilake on Sunday (12th March) personally visited the Chief Prelates of the Temple of the Tooth Relic, and the Malwatta and Asgiriya chapters to hand over the letters of appreciation from President Sirisena thanking them for the great support rendered for the success of the event.

Director General of Government Information Dr. Ranga Kalansooriya also joined the minister.
